‘Hicktown’ explores the subnormal standards of living and the remarkable nobody throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Connecticut. It’s a portrait of retirement and oppression using real life communities and individuals to portray their story. Shot on @kodak & @cinestillfilm 35mm in the summer of 2023, ‘Hicktown’ challenges conventions of observational documentaries in picturing this life in a more explicit and unequivocal tone.
